I would not recommend this hotel for anything- service, food or atmosphere. Staying at Mystic Lake was an unpleasant experience all around. Although I am a professional and was attending a professional conference, I often felt like I was being “watched.” I have stayed at other casino hotels, and have never before had this experience. It was uncomfortable and my colleagues and I were checked while walking around the hotel.
There is security and cameras EVERYWHERE inside and outside of the building. There is fine print on the check in contract, however this was NOT stated clearly at any point in the check in process. This was not clearly communicated- there were signs indicating “no guns,” “no people under the age of 18” and “no (hotel) alcohol outside the resort doors”. If you bring a bottle of wine they will confiscate it and dump it. EVEN IF YOU WOULD LIKE A GLASS OF WINE IN YOUR OWN ROOM. Additionally, the hotel PROHIBITS bringing any outside alcohol on to the premises. The food onsite was greasy and overpriced.
The staff was extremely rude and refused to move them to a non-smoking room. Our reservations were booked months prior and non-smoking was requested. My colleagues were initially put into a smoking room despite them being non-smokers and asking for non-smoking. My lungs were tight for the entire 4 days that I was there. As soon as I arrived in this hotel, all I could smell was smoke.
